Deal with the devil
Mickey is depressesed
Now teenagers, Mickey and Edward meet each other again. Linda, MIckey, and Edward stay together until Edward leaves to go to university. Mickey tells Edward that he will throw a Christmas party when he returns.
Mickey is furious
Mickey marries Linda, who is now pregnant, and ends up losing his job. To try and earn money, he joins his brother Sammy in a crime. However, he is sent to prison for 7 years.
The truth is revealed
In prison, Mickey is depressed and takes pills to help with it, even after being released. Linda worries about Mickey and tries to hide them, but Mickey refuses to go off them, and forces Linda to give them back.
Died on the selfsame day
After Mickey was released, he gets a new job. Meanwhile, Edward and Linda are starting a romance. When Mickey finds out, he is furious and finds the gun that Sammy stole, and runs to the town hall, where Edward is.
Mickey arrives at the town hall and flies into a fit of rage at Edward, saying that everything he owned belonged to Edward. The police arrive shortly after, telling Mickey to put down the gun, but he refuses. When Mrs Johnstone finds Mickey about to shoot Edward, she quickly declares that they are both twins, and that Edward was given away.
You and Edward are twins!
Mickey realises that he could have been Edward if he was given away, and shoots Edward. The police shoot Mickey just after, and both twins lie on the ground dead as Mrs Johnstone breaks into tears.
