Water Cycle Part 2
Storyboard Text
- Skluzavka: 1
- Rainy and Frosty are in a river because some of the ice had melted from the glacier and it flowed into a river. The ice had melted because of the sun, the sun really does play a part in the water cycle.
- Hi down there! My name is Frosty. I came down as snow from that cloud up there. Meaning I was precipitated. I can give you directions if you need.
- Hello! My name is Rainy and I need to get back to my twin sister. She is in the soil by a pretty flower.
- Are you sure you know where you are going? I don't like not knowing where I am.
- Whoops...I didn't think we would end up melting.Just follow me through this river.
- Rainy is now snow on a glacier. This is because she condensed and then she fell, precipitation, on a cold glacier. Meaning the water vapor got cold and turned into a solid. Gravity pulled it down because it got heavier. Next, the solid water fell as snow and landed on a glacier.
- Skluzavka: 2
- Rainy and Frosty are now groundwater. Rainy and Frosty are now at groundwater. Groundwater is basically what it sounds like, water that is in the ground. Scientifically, groundwater is found below Earth's surface in cracks between rocks and soil. They ended up here from the river because Frosty and Rainy were pulled by gravity and then they filtered through the soil as recharge.
- See! I told you I knew where we were going! We just have to hope the sun can heat up the air, that causes it to move. Meaning we have wind, wind means the lake will start to move! Then you can see your twin!
- We are at groundwater! Groundwater is just water that is below the surface! You're the best guide!
- You are so right! Thank you so much for helping me! As long as an animal doesn't drink us, I can see my twin sister at this time tomorrow!
- Where are we? I have no idea where anything is. We are so lost.
- Huh? What? Oh yeah, we are super close to the soil. I totally know my way to the soil.
- Rainy and Frosty are at a beautiful lake. They got here all the way from groundwater! This is because they filtered into the lake as discharge. They had to go through soil and rock, this way they are "cleaning" themselves. They then can go into the water, discharge. Making Frosty and Rainy clean water for animals to drink...
- Skluzavka: 3
- The dog had sweated, meaning Rainy and Frosty were excreted. The two droplets fell on the warm soil. They soon spotted River and ran towards her. They reunited at last. They would stay in the warm soil until the next adventure. For now, they lived happily ever after. (Just don't tell them the water cycle is a closed system and they will have to do this forever.) The End!
- Frosty and Rainy are on the dog's, Honey, fur. They are about to fall off. When that happens, they will be excreted. Excreted means that organisms release water back into the cycle by sweating, going to the bathroom, and much more. Rainy and Frosty will be excreted from the dog, but will they find Rainy's twin, River?
- Hi there... I helped her find her way back to you. I was wondering if I could stay with you guys?
- We were so close! Plus it is so hot out! What if I evaporate? Yuck! The dog is sweating too!
- Of course you can stay! We can all be 3 best friends!
- If the dog sweats, he will shake us off. If he shakes us off, we will be on the ground! My twin will be there!
- Rainy! I knew you would come back! I missed you!
