- God made a covenant with me to live in the promised land.

- In the year 1700 BCE a man named Abraham lived in Ur, Mesopotamia at some point, acoording to the Torah,the Hebrew Bible, Abraham made a convenant with god. In this agreement, Caanan would belong to Abraham's descendants.
- Thank you, God.
- Egypt had great supplies of grain, according to the Torah. Also, according to the Exodus the number of Jacob's people grew and the Pharoh did not like what was happening.

- When Moses asked the Pharoh to free his people he refused. After that, he made the isrealites do hard work and be slaves. God enflicted the 10 commandments. He then said every first born egyptian child that is a boy shall be killed.
- Moses was an Isrealite who was found by the Pharoh's daughter and grew up in their kingdom. As the daughter grew up she adopted Moses. God told Moses to rescue his people. Moses them asked the Pharoh to free his people but he refused. FInally, the pharoh let them free. While they were running away he changed his mind and wanted them back. Moses split the Red Sea for the Isrealites then crushed and drowned the Egyptians. After this, every year the jews celebrate passover to celebrate their freedom.
- Moses went up to Mount Sinia to meet with god and god gave Moses the 10 commandments. A commandment is an order to do something. This is important to jews, christians, and others because it shows that if you obey and listen to god he will protect you. Those religons practice monotheism and god as their lord. The isrealites believed that god wanted them to act based on ethics.
- When the Isrealites recieved the laws they made their way to the promised land. Moses saw Caanan on a mountain but died before entering the promised land. Joshua then tookover and went on to conquer Jericho and many other kingdoms. After that, each of the tribes descended from Jacob's sons and settled in a different area. Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin settled in the south while the other tribes settled in the north.
