Waverly and her mother in this part is trying to show who has more power. In the end Waverly is triumphant because her mother obeyed, and she is not happy about it.

Waverly couldn't talked to her mother because she always gets upset and misunderstands Waverly. The one time Waverly says how she feels it turned out to be an argument.
