- Hi, my name’s Reuben Ryan, and I’m the bandleader of Sydney seven-piece: The Real James Ryan Band.
- We’re a seven piece band from Sydney currently trying to promote our debut album

- We want to do this by organising a tour where we pay local craft makers in each town

- where we pay local craft makers in each town we visit to make merchandise for us. We have dubbed it:

- As an independent band based in Sydney’s Inner West, we derive a lot of our energy and resources from connections with the arts community
- The band was founded inside a housing co-operative
- and we have since relished every second of engaging with our local arts community to make songs, put together shows etc

- In case you haven’t noticed, COVID-19 hasn’t done wonders for artists and arts communities. It hasn't done wonders for anyone, really

- Anyway, in an effort to help revitalise the arts economy across NSW (and maybe get a few people to listen to our album in the process), we want to tour regionally and at each stop;
- pay creators a flat rate of $500 to create merchandise for us.

- The merchandise can be anything
- from hats, to shirts, to sculptures, to embroidery
- Well, a lot, it turns out
- So how much money do we need to make this happen?
- Firstly, we plan to stop at six locations: Wollombi, Newcastle, Katoomba, Braidwood, Canberra and Melbourne.

- Then, we want to pay ourselves for time on the road
- (cos, ya know, we are working musicians and one of the goals of this project is helping artists make money)
- So $100 per show x 7 musicians = $4200. || Then adding fuel (600) || accommodation (320) || CD manufacture (gotta spread the music 450) || it comes to $8570.

- So, the whole point of this video is to ask you to help us reach this goal.
