Proteus Story

Menelaos was trapped in Egypt. He attempted to sail back home, but for twenty days, no wind came.
Why am I trapped in Egypt?!
Menelaos and his crew were starving, so the goddess Eidothea, daughter of Proteus, took pity on him. She spoke to him when he was trying to catch fish.
Proteus will change shapes, but to catch him, you have to hold on no matter what. He will eventually turn into his original form and you can then ask him anything.
If you can catch Proteus, he will tell you how to get home as well as news of your friends.
Eidothea disguised them using sealskin. After Proteus counted all the sea creatures, he went back to sleep allowing Menelaos and the men a chance to grab him.
Proteus turned into several different forms, but the men held on. Eventually, Proteus turned into his original form.
To get home, you must make the proper sacrifices. Despite Athena's hate for Aias, Poseidon saved him. But when he began to brag about it, Poseidon killed him.
After omniscient Proteus turned into his original form, he told Menelaos everything he wanted to know.
Agamemnon will get home, but he will be murdered by Aigisthos. Odysseus is stuck on Kalypso's island with no way to get home.
After Menelaos makes the proper sacrifices, the gods provide wind for him to sail home safely.
