- Bali´s Day of Silence: New Year is celebrated in Bali with a 24 hour period of silence and meditation known as Nyepi
- No fires may be lit, minimal talking is allowed and no travel, work or leisure activities are permitted
- Yi peng Lantern festival: Is a festival unique to northern Thailand wich is celebrated on the full moon (usually November)
- The 'festival of lights' was adapted fron Brahmin origins and has close ties with the ancient Lanna Kingdom. Yi peng traditionally was celebrebrated as a stand-alone event to mark the end of the monsoon season and the begining of the cool season
- The 'Inti Raymi: This is a Cusco tourist festival that vidicate the ancient ceremony os the 'Wawa Inti Raymi'. This celebration has so much significate for the Cusco city that is celebrated on 24th of July.
- HandPicking One’s Own Destiny: A baby’s first birthday, or dol, is anextravagant affair in Korea, where in the past disease and starvation took somany lives that surviving one’s first year was a major milestone.
- The highlight of these events is a fortune telling ritualcalled the doljabi in which the child is placed in front of variousobjects such as books, paintbrushes and piggy banks. The child is thenencouraged to pick up an object from the table. This object, it is believed,will foretell the child’s future
- Schultüte onthe first day of school: The Schultüte isa traditional German gift that was established during the 19th century. A Schultüte isa paper or plastic bag in the shape of a large cone
- They are given by parents to their children on theirvery first day of school (after Kindergarten) to help them overcome the anxietythat is normally associated with this milestone. Schultüten are usually filledwith various small gifts ranging from candy to items of clothing and teddybears.
