After Rainsford falls off his yacht, he swims towards the sound of a gunshot, and ends up on an island.
I have become the hunted.

Rainsford finds a house, but it is guarded by a giant. Eventually, he is welcomed in by the owner.
Fine job Rainsford, but now I will have to send all my hounds after you.
Despite General Zaroff's seemingly good nature, he decides he will hunt Rainsford to challenge himself.
I wonder how General Zaroff is doing with those hounds outside?
After making several trails through the woods, Rainsford hides in a tree, only to be found by general Zaroff. This starts a game of cat and mouse.
Near the end of the hunt, Rainsford successfully kills the general's hound and runs away to plot his next actions.
Rainsford successfully removes General Zaroff after swimming over to the house. His sneak attack into the General's bedroom allows him a goodnight's sleep.
