- Well sir its because of metallic bonds. See when metallic bonding occurs the atoms become positive while the free floating valence electrons allow for electrical current to flow.

- Well NaCl or salt is from ionic bonding which is when two oppositely charged ions (a metal cation and nonmetal anion) come together to react. So thank ionic bonds for salty goodness.
