- Not at all. All that matters in this country is money. What's the point of buying a house when we don't got the money to upkeep it??
- Dad...I'm not sure a house makes a man. I just want to find out who I really am.

- Ruth! Wait!
- Is this house for sale? My family has been saving. A house means we finally MADE it!
- Or maybe it's just a building..
- See? This young man understands! A house is everything, Biff!
- I can't believe you Walter, I'm leaving!

- If you own a house, people respect you. You are somebody!
- Exactly! My father worked his whole life and never owned anything. I won't let that happen to me.
- They think a house will fix everything.
- I know. My dad has believed that his whole life...and he's still not happy.

- I've been saying the right things my whole life...so why doesn't it feel like enough?

- Maybe..I never stopped to ask what I really wanted. I just chased what I was supposed to want.
- Walter, I think we want the house for different reasons. And that's okay.
- This house is my family's chance. It means we belong here. That nobody can push us aside.
- But what if the dream isn't a house? What if it's just...being honest about who you are?

- But Biff helped his B see that a dream built on pretending could crumble like old wood.
- The Youngers saw the house as dignity-a place where no one could tell them they didn't belong.
