George calls Lennie out of Crooks room, so Crooks eases back into his lonely routine of staying in his room by himself.

George describes their dream farm where they own animals and can live off of the land together. But Lennie is mostly excited about having rabbits.
Barriers

In the begging of the story Lennie lets George know that not only does George have Lennies back, but Lennie also has Georges back.
Companionship

Curleys wife threatens to have Crooks hanged. This is serious because she is white woman and the daughter in law of the boss, so everyone would take her word over his. This leaves Crooks powerless.
Curley picks a fight with Lennie because he is jealous of his big size. This is a barrier for the guys because Curley could get his dad to fire them.

George trusts slim enough to explain what happened at the last job. And instead of judging George and Lennie he acknowledges that Lennie has a mental disability.
