When Enlil had come, he saw the boat and was swelled with anger at the gods. Ea reproached Enlil for his senselessness in bringing down the flood.
How could you be so senseless?
Why has these mortals escaped?
Utnapishtim went on the mountain top and set up seven cauldrons. The gods smelled the sweet aroma and gathered like flies over the sacrifice.
I need to thank Ea for his help.
After the seventh day, the boat grounded on a mountain. After another seven days, Utnapishtim let loosed a dove, a swallow, and a raven each day. The dove and the swallow came back, but not the raven. Utnapishtim knew that the waters had decreased so he opened up the boat's doors.
I hope it can find a good resting place.
For six days and six nights, winds blew and torrents and tempests and floods overwhelmed the world. Even the gods were terrified at the flood, and fled to the highest heaven.
Why would the gods do such a thing!
Enlil listened and knew that he did something wrong. He went into the boat and took Utanapishtima and his wife. Then, he blessed them with eternal life.
I now give you eternal life.
In time past, Utnapishtim and his wife live in the distance at the mouth of the rivers. With Enlil's blessing, they gained eternal life and live happily ever after.
