- The first step of meiosis is Prophase I. In a cell, the homologous chromosomes find each other. But in our case our human use some carrots. Each carrots will function as a chromatid and your human put four together to form a tetrad. Your human use broccoli for your centioles, which are gonna move to opposite side of you. And your chicken liver as a nucleus is going to start have its nuclear membrane break down. The homologous chromosomes are going to be crossing over. Do you get it now?
