I really need to start to go to the gym. I want to maintain a healthy lifestyle in order to improve my mental health and overall internal health.

I can message you my workout routine in details, but I will give a brief overview now. The overall split is a 4 day routine. Day 1 chest, day 2, back and Biceps, day 3 shoulders, and day 4 legs.
Jim gave me a 4 day routine, but I don't quite know what I should I do the other 3 days. Oh I got an idea! I will have 2 break days after 2 days of working straight, and then on the last day I will play basketball for cardio. My schedule sounds perfect!

If you want to lose weight faster and more efficiently you must maintain a healthy diet. Download an app called MyFitnesspal it helps track your calories. You don't want to go over in your total calories, but you also don't want to starve yourself to ensure you aren't losing too much muscle while trying to lose weight.
Hey Tom, I forgot to mention one thing last time. Working out is important, but the most important factor is your diet.

Tom, you have to make sure you are consistent with the schedule and diet. You get 2 off days make the most of those days, and work hard when you come to gym. For your first weeks I will come with you to ensure you're doing things right, and so you can familiarize yourself with the workouts.
One thing to make sure of is safety. Stretch before workouts to reduce chance of pulling muscles or warmup by doing workouts with a much lower weight first. Another thing is don't lift at a weight you know you can't lift. If you are making attempt to, please have someone at the gym spot you.
