Storyboard Text
- In Brittany, there was once a Knight who loved a lady. Averagus took Dorigen back to his castle where they lived in bliss. Until one day he took a ship to England to enter the field of combat, leaving Dorigen to weep and pray for his safety.
- Unhappy near the sea, her friends take her inland to a garden. Aurelius, a squire, confesses his love for her. She rejects him and tells him the only way they would ever be together was if he got rid of all the rocks of Brittany.
- Discouraged, Aurelius went home and wept. His brother encouraged him to find a wizard that could create an illusion over the rocks of Brittany. With this, Dorigen would have to keep her promise. They found a wizard that would create the illusion for 1000 pounds.
- The wizard gets rid of all the rocks of Brittany. The squire runs to tell Dorgien. She sees this and confesses the mistake to her husband. Both appalled by this misfortune, Averagus sends his wife to keep her promise to the squire instead of suffering shame.
- Dorigen heads back to the garden to meet up with Aurelius as her husband ordered. Aurelius is stumped realizing that she doesn't love him. He tells her that he rather suffer alone than break the love between her and her spouse, and sets her free.
- Aurelius begs the wizard for more time to pay. The wizard realizes that after his efforts, the squire did not get the girl. After noticing the nobility of the knight and the squire, he decides to do the same by getting rid of the squires debt. Who is the noblest?
