  • Hello, My name is Katelynn and today I'm going to teach you about plant reproduction.
  • As you can see we are in my garden today and I have some flowers back there and other things starting to grow
  • Plant reproduction is the production of new offspring in plants, which can be accomplished by sexual or asexual reproduction.
  • I have now stepped inside my garden so we are going to begin. So, what is plant reproduction? Well I'm going to tell you.
  • The plant organs that participate this process are Sepals,Petals,Stamens,Anthers,Stigma, and Ovary
  • Flowers are plants that reproduce sexually, so how does this work? Well They produce male sex cells and female sex cells. These must meet for reproduction to begin, a process called pollination.
  • Anthers-Produce male sex cells Stigma-The top of the female part of the flower which collects pollen grains. Ovary-Produces the female sex cells Pistils- The ovule producing part of a flower.
  • The functions of each reproductive organ are Sepals-Protect the unopened flower Petals-May be brightly coloured to attract insects Stamens-The male parts of the flower
  • Oh! look! There is a be on that flower over there perfect. A bee is an example of a pollinator. Why? Well because A pollinator is an animal that moves pollen from the male anther of a flower to the female stigma of a flower. In other word they spread the pollen from flower to flower but what attracts them in the first place is the petals.
  • All those functions play a role in the sexual reproduction of a flower to produce flowers. Now we are going to talk about pollinators and how they flowers with the reproduction process
