A bunch of Imaginese cats accidentally set sail to a hot, tropical island. The lighter cats thrived and had more energy to reproduce more, since their fur absorbed less sunlight and heat which made them less tired.
The darker cats found a cave that they wanted to explore, since it wasn't as hot in the cave. A few lighter cats joined them, too.
Suddenly, a boulder fell over the entrance of the cave, trapping the cats who went in inside. The two sides are physically isolated from each other. Outside, there are mostly lighter cats.
The darker cats are more fit to reproduce in the cave, as their color lets them hide from predators more. After 50 generations, darker cats are the only ones left in the cave.
The lighter cats continue to reproduce more than the darker colored cats outside of the cave because they have more energy to reproduce than darker cats. After 50 generations, lighter cats are the only breed alive outside of the cave.
After 50 generations, the boulder was destroyed. The cats could reproduce and intermingle with each other now, but don't. The cats find the other color of fur non optimal to mate with because of where they were used to living for 50 generations. The black cats now stick to the cave, and the white cats stay outside. They are now separate species (Cavenese and Solarese Cats).
