Many people met with Zinser advising her to step down and resign her position. She was adamant but was finally swayed and resigned giving peace to the Gallaudet community. She resigned on March 10th the 5th day.

Dr. King Jordan was named the 8th president and was a right fit to represent the deaf institution.
When Zinser resigned there was still half a demand needing to be met, leading to the 3 1/2 protests. They wanted a deaf president now and this was met with the election of Dr. King Jordan
