The first and third slides represent the evolution of society’s acceptance of those of a different race, depicted through the institution of marriage. In the first slide, Brabantio exclaims that his daughter has betrayed her own blood by marrying Othello, who has a darker skin color. In the third slide, an interracial marriage is taking place and the friends and family are happy and proud, which is meant to show how diverse the world has become.
