- The U.S. got involved in WW1 because Germany started to bomb U.S. ships. The U.S. declared war on Germany.
- Korean War
- U.S. became involved in WW2 after Japan launched a surprise attack and bombed Pearl Harbor. They declared war on Japan and Nuked them, forcing a surrender.
- Cold War
- Be ready to fire!
- Soviet Union was putting nuclear weapons in Cuba, just 90 miles away from America. After some negotiation, The Soviet Union agreed to take out the missiles. It was the closest the world had come to a nuclear war.
- Bay of Pigs
- Bay of Pigs
- North Korea was communist and backed by china. South was against communism and was backed by America. North Korea wanted to make South Korea Communist. U.S., trying to contain communism, backed South Korea. Korea ended up in 2 countries as it was originally.
- The cold war was a confrontation between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. It is called the cold war because nobody actually fought. The U.S. was trying to get as many countries under a democracy, while the soviets wanted to spread communism. America wanted to contain communism as much as possible.
- U.S. Invaded the bay of pigs to overthrow Fidel Castro. He had overthrown the last dictator, and gained supporters about lying about his future plans of a democracy. Unfortunately, the invasion was a faliure.
