- Skluzavka: 1

- Maddy's nurse symbolizes freedom. Maddy isn't supposed to leave or talk to anyone. When this new family moves in right next to where she lives. She sees this guy named Olly and starts emailing him and wants to hang out. Her mom doesn't like the idea and won't let it happen. When her mom is off at work, Carla lets Maddy see Olly giving her freedom since her mom won't let her.
- Skluzavka: 2
- "The room is so much alive with Olly in it . If all the fake plants and trees swayed to life right now, I wouldn't be suprised"(Nicola 95)
- Olly symbolizes peace and joy. When Olly is with Maddy she feels at peace. She herself when she is around Olly. They both act the same way and like the same things. Maddy's stomach get butterflies in it when she is with Olly.
- Skluzavka: 3
- "I see the truck and the silhouette of an older woman twirling-the mother. I see a girl maybe a little younger than me-the daughter."(Nicola 20)
- The glass/window symbolizes sight, that she can see outside and see the world. Since she has SCID she cant leave her house and see anyone. Her windows physically holds Maddy in but the transparency lets her to watch what's happening outside. This illistartes that she is behind it and cannot break it. She touches the window with her hand and her forehead.
