Hi, my name is Christopher and I'm from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the United States of America and I go to George Washington Carver School of Engineering and Science. Something you might not know about Philadelphia is the fact that a lot of us are passionate about our favorite sports, games, and foods. Something really interesting about our Carver community, is that we have a wide range of people we can ask for help; like classmates, high school students, and teachers.

Life in Philadelphia is an interesting experience because of all the diversity in cultures and religions we have. In Philly, while walking around the streets, you can see all the various different cultural and religious practices. A main example of this is Chinatown, which is near the Southeast border of Pennsylvania. Because of how diverse and accepting Philadelphia is, I feel really safe and accepted in my city. I feel accepted for what I look like, for the color of my skin, for the way I act, for my beliefs and practices, and for my cultural differences.
Honestly, I don't really know what being a Global Scholar is yet. Though I don't know what it means that well, I strongly believe this year will be an amazing year for all of us. A year where we'll be able to get to know each other's personalities, cultures, religions, beliefs, opinions, and just general thoughts and questions in life. I hope we can have an amazing global year together!
