Carmen and Don Julian are talking about the wedding of Alfredo and Esperanza. Alfredo never had a relationship other than with Esperanza, and they have been engaged for quite some time now, but Alfredo seems to be unrushed, and the once warm and sweet relationship that he had with Esperanza is now gone.
Climax
Alfredo is uncertain about Esperanza and their wedding. Even though he is already engaged to Esperanza, he still falls in love with Julia.
Falling Action
Alfredo told Julia about his feelings towards her, but he can't let go of the old things or old baggage that he has, which is Esperanza and his promises to Esperanza. Julia already know about Alfredo and Esperanza's upcoming wedding
Resolution
Esperanza informed Alfredo that she knew what was going on between him and Julia and encouraged him to confess before it was too late. They talk about whether to cancel their wedding or not.
Alfredo and Julia said goodbye to each other, and Alfredo and Esperanza still got married. After eight years, Alfredo and Julia meet again while Alfredo is on a business trip.
After meeting Julia again, Alfredo realized that his feelings for Julia already vanished. He compared it to a Dead Stars because his love for Julia was once bright and beautiful and now it became a beautiful memory.
