Storyboard Text

  • Act 5, Scene 1, a street in Mantua. After Romeo learn of Juliet's "death" from his servant Balthasar, Romeo finds a poor Apothecary and convinces him to give him poison that he will use to kill himself.
  • Juliet died
  • You are poor, and yet you are still afraid of death by breaking the law and selling me this poison. I will pay good money and you will no longer be in poverty.
  • I have the poison but just selling you this can send me in jail for life, or even death for me!

  • Act 5, Scene 2, Friar Laurence's cell in Verona. Friar John tells Friar Laurence that he couldn't deliver Laurence's letter to Romeo. Friar Laurence begins to worry about what might now happen that will go wrong.
  • WHAT!? That letter was important! If not sent this could mean very bad things! Juliet will wake up in 3 hours, and Romeo won't be there to see her!
  • I was locked up due to an outbreak of plague in the city, so I was unable to deliver your letter to Romeo.
  • Act 5, Scene 3, the cemetery that contains the Capulets' tomb. After Romeo and Paris fought and Romeo killed Paris, Romeo buried Paris. Romeo then grieves Juliet for one last time before drinking the poison to "join her in death."
  • Romeo to asleep Juliet:My love, you are still beautiful. I cannot live without you. I drink this for our love.
  • Romeo to dead Paris: You and I had bad luck, you'll be buried next to Juliet. I will be after you.
  • Act 5, Scene 3, the cemetery that contains the Capulets' tomb. After waking Juliet up and telling her the news, Friar Laurence goes to investigate the noise. Juliet is upset after seeing Romeo died, she grabs his dagger (sword), and kills herself with it.
  • Romeo, you killed yourself with that poison and left me nothing. Oh a dagger, I'll be quick!
  • Act 5, Scene 3, the cemetery that contains the Capulets' tomb. Friar Laurence explains everything that happened to Romeo and Juliet to the Prince and Lords Capulet and Montague. He takes full responsibility.
  • Somebody explain this, and until then control yourselves.
  • Romeo and Juliet are married. After I got them married, after that Romeo was banished for killing Tybalt. You then betrothed her to Paris, and to get out of it I gave her a potion that made it look that she was died. Romeo did not receive my letter informing him about that. When I arrived Romeo and Paris were dead, and that's was when Juliet woke up to. I left because I heard a noise, while I was gone she killed herself. If I am responsible then punish me to death.
  • Act 5, Scene 3, the cemetery that contains the Capulets' tomb. The prince hold Lords Capulet and Montague accountable for Romeo and Juliet's deaths, he even blames himself. The Lords make peace.
  • I will make a statue of gold for Juliet!
  • "Capulet, Montague, see what a scrounge is laid upon your hate, that heaven finds means to kill your joys with love! And I, for winking at your discord too, have lost a brace of kinsmen. All are punished." (Shakespeare 5.3.291-295).
  • I will do the same for Romeo. Our children were the sacrifice of our hate!
