- did you study for the test ?I did almost everything but i completely forgot about the homefront.
- Omg yes we were just talking about that .The easiest ones to remember are women in the workfrorce,rationining and Evacuation

- Ok so basically back when the war started The gov knnew large cities would be thet argets for bombs so to prevent large casualties they evacuated children ,women and the disabled to the countryside where there were less threats.
- But since it was vouluntary only half of the expected 3 mil participated that is until the battle of Britain and blitz when it was reintroducedand alot more peo[le were evacuated including schoolchildren who had to wear name tags and carry gas masks
- That's intresting.What about rationing ?
- That's basically the government restricting how much of specific foods like butter ,sugar,eggs,milk ,chese ,jam and tea etc. you can have each month .This is because there was a food shortage
- They also had rations of clothes at one point due to a hortage of materials.That was in June 1941.

- Yes .Best for last type vibes.Just know alot of theeligible men had gone to actually fight in the war.
- So they had to do the jobs the men couldnt right ?
- Precicesly they worked in factories producing weapons for the war,Became farmers and basically just took on the traditionally masculine role as the breadwinner.
- Yeah,They also did work for the actual army itself by being nurses to help injured soldiers and having jobs such as Women's Voluntary Service (WVS), Air Raid Wardens, Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS),
