Since 2013, it’s been forbidden to demolish buildings with tile-covered facades (azulejos) in Lisbon to protect their cultural heritage.
This shows the impact of art in Portugal’s loyalty to their country’s history by showing preventative laws put into place to protect Portuguese culture.
