Goodmorning doc. is there any types of Diabetes Mellitus? Because we both have this disease but different treatments needs
there are two types of diabetes, but not everyone understands the difference between them.
What are their differences?
The main difference between the two types of diabetes is that type 1 diabetes is a genetic disorder that often shows up early in life, and type 2 is largely diet-related and develops over time.
If you have type 1 diabetes, your immune system is attacking and destroying the insulin-producing cells in your pancreas.
While type 2 diabetes, your body still produces a small amount of insulin, but it isn't effective enough. The pancreas can't keep up with the high blood sugar levels resulting from poor diet and lack of exercise.
Some sign and Symptoms of type 2 are Increased thirst, Frequent urination, Increased hunger, Unintended weight loss, Fatigue, Blurred vision, Slow-healing sores, Frequent infections. Numbness or tingling in the hands or feet.
What are Symptoms of type 2 and type 1 diabetes mellitus?
Type 1 diabetes signs and symptoms can appear relatively suddenly and may include the increased thirst, frequent urination, Extreme hunger, Unintended weight loss, Irritability and other mood changes, Fatigue and weakness and Blurred vision
The exact cause of type 1 diabetes is unknown. Other possible causes include Genetics and Exposure to viruses and other environmental factors
Type 2 diabetes are caused by Cells in muscle, fat and the liver become resistant to insulin. Because these cells don't interact in a normal way with insulin, they don't take in enough sugar. The pancreas is unable to produce enough insulin to manage blood sugar levels.
Unlike type 1, people with type 2 diabetes often do not need to take insulin, because their bodies still produce a small amount of it. The primary ways to treat type 2 diabetes are a balanced diet, Weight loss, Blood glucose monitoring and also exercise.
