- Now that we're here, let me ask you a few questions. What was it like in your universe? Did you guys have to take a pill to suppress emotions? What about Sameness?
- No. A pill for suppressing emotions? What kind of torture pill is that? And what is Sameness?
- I don't think it was that bad, though when I stopped taking the pill, I started to see color, which is a good thing. Sameness...I don't know how to explain it, but it made everyone stay equal and the same. Nobody questioned it, so I guess things just stayed like that for quite a long time.
- Oh...I think we had something similar, but it was called a cardioplate. It would cause someone to die when they were late, so I guess they are the same? I mean, everyone was working on the same schedule, so it also took away our ability to be different from everyone else.

- Not exactly. I was tired of living my normal life, and I started to not be on time for things, which really made the Ticktockman mad.
- It seems like we are more alike than I originally thought. What about running away? Have you ever thought of that?
- You mentioned the Ticktockman before. He's the one who controls the time, right? The Elder's play a similar role in my world. Although, they aren't providing the whole truth as to why The Community is the way it is.
- Yeah, the Ticktockman is quite secretive about why everything needs to be on time as well. He even kept the research for the "turn off" function on our cardioplates a secret!
- It seems like we really are quite similar after all!
