- Alfredo who is engaged to Esperanza, doesnot seem interested in setting a date for their marriage and is no longer enthusiastic;about their relationship
- CLIMAX
- Alfredo goes neighboring with Don Julianand is greeted by Julia at the door
- FALLING ACTION
- Their closenesshave reached to a point where Alfredo looks forward to visiting Juliathan spending time with Esperanza. Alfredo then tries to express hisattraction to Julia when Judge de Valle was invited to a coconutplantation by Don Julian. However, Alfredo learned that Julia will be returning to her hometown, and that their meeting in the coconutplantation might be the last. They then say their farewells
- RESOLUTION DENOUMENT
- Alfredo saw Julia within the plaza. He approached her, only to learn that Julia discovered his engagement with Esperanza. She then congratulates Alfredo. Alfredo was confused with his ownemotions, since he believes that he has fallen in love with Julia, but he cannot ignore that he was engaged with Esperanza. the argument heated and Esperanza revealed that she actually knewwhat was happening between Alfredo and Julia. She dared Alfredo to leave her,and Alfredo was made to choose.
- Event 1: alfredo marries esperanza but still cherishes thoughts about juliaEvent 2: alfredo meets julia eight years after his marriage
- Resolution: When he arrived in Julia's home and saw her, he believed that something was missing (from either her or him). He then;realizes after holding her hand that he cannot feel anything anymore.Denoument: Alfredo's internal conflict regarding his feelings and sense ofcommitment is finally resolved when he realizes that what hefelt for Julia was an infatuation which faded in the course of time.
