How to build a research report

Structure to Build a research report consists of 3 parts : #1 Preliminary material, which is made up of Title of report, Table of contents, and Abstract/Sinopsis.

And finally #3 Supplementary material which consists in References or Bibliography Appendices

There are 7 steps to build a Research Report:Step 1 Analyse the TaskAs with any assignment task, you must first analyse what is expected of you. This involves careful reading of the assignment task as outlined in your course information book.
STEP 3Do the ResearchSteps 1 and 2 will guide your research for this report. You may need to report on other research on a particular topic or do some research of your own.STEP 4Draft the Body of Your Report
STEP 2Develop a Rough PlanUse the section headings (outlined above) to assist with your rough plan. Write a thesis statement that clarifies the overall purpose of your report. Jot down anything you already know about the topic in the relevant sections.
