It's too cold up here in the New england colonies and the soil is so poor we can't grow anything, so we have to earn money by fishing, whaling and shipbuilding.
It's so HOT in the southern colonies. We have great soil which we use to mainly make money from plantations.
The middle colonies is nice and mild. We have great soil for commercial farming. We make money from mining, bread baskets, and logging.
