- A star's life begins in the form of a nebula, which is a dust and plasma cloud that is composed of 75% hydrogen and 25% helium. The gases collapse and begin to rotate due to gravity. This has the potential to last up to 50 million years. Imagine that long enough to form just a nebula. How much more time do we need to produce a start? So come on guys, let's make the clock tick faster.
