- His dad was leaving to get money, so the dad said to the son that he was a grown man so he was in charge and to take care of his mom and his little brother.
- Little Arliss was in the drinking water, again so Travis remembered that he had to take dads place and act like dad. So he thought he should sound like him so he said to his brother if you don't get out he is going to wear him as a frazzle.
- They were waiting for Travis so they can have dinner just like they waited for dad when he came late.
