  • How Eyesenck sees me
  • Wow, we're both really extraverted and stable. We must be easy going individuals!
  • How Costa & McCrae see me
  • I want to go be social because that's how I get my energy. I wonder why my friends say I'm an example of extraversion.
  • How Jung sees me
  • You're smiling, you must be happy like me!
  • Eysenck made factor analysis theory. This allowed him to make a compass with four points. In-between those four points there's a range of personalities you can fall into, based on if you're closer to one trait or they other
  • How Bandura sees me
  • I can definitely jump down from here and be okay.
  • Costa and McCrea saw personality mainly as 5 big traits. Personality is a broad topic that many have tried to summarize, or at least try and classify. The 5 traits they chose are openness, Conscientiousness, extraversion, neurotic and agreeableness. Keep in mind not one person will exclusively be one trait, everyone is a mixture of all of them.
  • How Rogers sees me
  • Wow, I'm happy I was able to push past my injury and adapt to be a hard worker!
  • Jung believed that all humans had a collective unconscious that allowed us to share customs across cultures. It also applies to myths and symbols. Many different cultures will have polytheistic Gods that are very similar, or all have mothers as symbols of nurutance.
  • How Adler sees me
  • Wow, you act a lot like an adult. I guess you are the first born!
  • Bandura took a very safe theory and called it the Dunning Kruger Effect. Essentially it says that most humans over estimate their ability. This also applies to how much someone thinks they know about a certain subject. The average person will always over esitmate themselves.
  • Roger's theorized about the humanistic view. This theory says that personality is shaped by our drive to adapt and grow. This is a very optimistic view vs. the other theories on personality. This is mainly because other theories say personality are formed mainly due to defense mechanisms.
  • Alder believe in birth order theory. It attempted to generalize people's personality on whether they were born last, middle, or first born. He even accounted for only children in his stereotypes. He theorized that how you're treated because of the order will affect how you deal with feeling inferior in the family tree.
