Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 but sadly died on April 4, 1968. He lived in Memphis, Tennessee and died there as well.
Family members: He grew up living with his grandparents, parents, a younger brother, and his older sister. When he got older he got married to Coretta Scott and they had 4 kids named Yolanda, Martin, Dexter. and Bernice.
Important childhood events: He was very smart that he skipped a few subjects and he graduated from college at 19 years old.
Known for: He is a civil rights leader/hero. He helped raise awareness of racial inequalities . He is also known for the speech he made named "I have a dream."
Awards earned: He earned the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. He was also awarded the Congressional Gold Medal and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Anything else people should know: He went to jail 30 times because of his resistance. Many people tried to kill him and on April 4, 1968 a gunman shot him. Martin Luther King Jr's. name at birth was Micheal King but that was a mistake because he was supposed to be named after his father.
