The Nazi's surround the Allies at the port of Dunkirk. The Allies had 400 000 soldiers surrounded at the port. The Nazi's were closing in and could kill and capture them.

The Allied troops were surrounded on the beach, waiting for evacuation. They had no where left to back up so Britain ordered a evacuation. The soldiers were left standing still on the beach.
Soldiers Make it Home to Britain
Germany halted their troops from going into Dunkirk. This gave the Allies a short time period to evacuate their troops. This action greatly impacted the war.

This is a great success for us as many of our soldiers made it home!
Britain evacuates soldiers at Dunkirk using fishing boats where water is too shallow. They used British civilian fishing boats for the job. Many fishermen transported troops from Dunkirk straight to Britain.
Britain successfully brings home 340 000 out of the 400 000 soldiers at Dunkirk. The Germans sunk a couple British ships transporting soldiers. This also included a medical ship.
Thank God we Made it out of there alive!
This win for the allies improved moral as we got a vast majority of our soldiers home. The soldiers celebrated as they escaped death or being captured by the Germans. Most of these soldiers also went on to liberate Europe later on in the war,
