- You need to go to school scout. school will be diifferent.
- I hope so. I'm looking foward to starting school.
- Mrs. Carloline has to be about 21. She has a different ways of teaching, and she looked young.
- Your dad needs to stop teaching you how to read and write!
- Atticus aint got time to teach me anything.
- In this scene, Jem is convinving Scout that school isnt as bad as she may think it is. School will be different and she my enjoy school.
- He can't afford to take the quarter. He can't pay it back.
- Walter, did you forget your lunch today? I can give you a qurarter, and you can pay me back tomorrow.
- Uh, yes. I can't take the quarter. Thanks though
- In this scene, Scout is describing her teacher and making assumptions about her based on her visual represetation.
- Not as poor as the farmers. They put their land first, and tend to need lots of help on their farm.
- Atticus, are we as poor as the Cuttinghams?
- In this scene, Scout goes to school thinking she would love it. However, her teacher becomes aware that she already knows how to read and write, and asks that her dad stops teaching her how to read and write.
- You are starting off on the wrong leg every day! Come up here and hold out your hand.:
- In this scene, Mrs. Carloline tells Walter that he can have a quarter for lunch since he forgot his. However, she does not know that Walter is too poor to pay it back, so he can't accept it. Scout stands up for Walter and tells Mrs. Carloline the reason he can't pay her back or accept her money.
- In this scene, Scout asks Atticus if they are poor because she found out Walter is very poor and he's not able to pay the teacher back. Atticus then explains to her that they are not as poor as the farmers, but they are still poor.
- In this scence, Scout said something that made her teacher mad, and Mrs. Caroline decided that Scout needed to be smacked on her hand so she did.
