Johnny! The school year is almost over! Have you thought about college?
...Just a few minutes?
Yeah! I thought about it for a few minutes and decided to go to EVC then transfer to SJSU.
Yeah...? What about it?
Not always! A lot of people go to college and come out finding that it wasn't worth it in the short or long term at all!
You need to think about the cost/benefit analysis! What do you put in and what do you get out of it?
Why is that important? If I just get some kind of degree I'll just be better off right?
I don't understand! How can you go to college and not gain anything from it?

That's not it. You'll always gain something from college, but will it benefit you to make up for the sunk cost?
It's the potential benefit that you gain stacked against what you put in and what stays with you, like loans.
Sometimes people just aren't ready but still rush in and end up regretting it later on.
There are all sorts of costs! Tuition always comes to mind first, but remember that college takes time and you might get distant from old friends! You'll have less time for others, which ends up being an externality!
