The Knights with an elf! That is us. We will be giving you 2 examples of metals, nonmetals, and metalloids. We will also compare all 3.
Hello! I am Red Knight! I will be telling you 2 examples of metals. The 2 examples are platinum and gold. Platinum is a shiny solid at room temperature. It is soft and it is also malleable. It is mostly used for catalytic converters for trucks, cars, and even buses. This counts as 50% of platinum's use. It is also used frequently for jewellery. Gold is shiny. It is also a great conductor for heat and electricity. It is also ductile. Gold is mostly used for jewelry. Jewelry uses 79% of gold every year. Other examples are awards and metals. Now I am going to pass it down to gold knight!
Hello! I am gold knight! I will be telling you 2 examples of nonmetals. The 2 examples are oxygen and xenon.Oxygen is tasteless and odorless. It also has no color and it is a gas that is the reason everyone on earth is still alive because we breathe it in to survive! Some examples oxygen is used for are making plastics, welding, cutting, and even flame cleaning. Xenon is very similar to oxygen. It has no smell, color, and it is a gas. Xenon is most commonly used for photo flashes. Xenon and oxygen are both not poisonous. Now I am going to pass it down to blue knight.
Hello! I am blue knight! I will be telling you 2 examples of metalloids. The 2 examples are boron and antimony. Boron has a very dark color. It is also hard and resistant to heat. It is sometimes used for glass, rocket fuel igniter, and bleaches. Antimony is also hard. Antimony also has a scaly texture and it is brittle. It is used to increase the hardness of alloys. Now I shall pass it down to Elf to do the comparisons!
Hello! I am Elf! I will be comparing metals, nonmetals, and metalloids. Metals and metalloids have luster but non-metals do not have luster. Metals are great conductors, Metalloids are semiconductors, and nonmetals are poor conductors of electricity and heat. Nonmetals and metalloids are brittle but metals are not. Metals and metalloids both are malleable and ductile but nonmetals are not. Metals are hard, but nonmetals and metalloids are a bit softer than metals. Metals and metalloids are sonorous but nonmetals are not. Metals and metals have a good tensile strength but nonmetals have weak tensile strength. Since this is the end, goodbye!
