- YES!! This growth in trade across the Muslim world had a major impact on agriculture. With flourishing trade and agricultural innovation came the rise of prosperous cities.
- Did you know that although they had internal struggles, the Arabs got to be have economic prosperity by trading with other places such as Europe or Southern/ Eastern Asian countries.
- Okay guys! Although Muslims believed that Allah saw everyone equally, there was still a huge defined social structure.There was a fairly well-defined upper class that consisted of ruling families, senior officials, nomadic elites, and the wealthiest merchants. Non-Muslims were not considered equal to Muslims in the Islamic world. Slaves were one of the non-Muslim groups, and were harshly treated.
- Alright, since we are on Women's History Month, let's talk about the Role of Women in the Islamic Civilization.
- The Quran granted women spiritual and social equality with men. However, as in most societies of the time, men were dominant in Muslim society. Every woman had a male guardian, be it father, brother, or other male relative. Parents or guardians arranged marriages for their children.
- Islamic art is a blend of Arab, Turkish, and Persian traditions, reflecting the history of these three cultures. Most decorations on Islamic art consisted of Arabic letters, natural plants, and abstract figures. The best expression of Islamic architecture is found in the way Muslim mosques represent the spirit of Islam. Until this day, they are so impacting for most of us.
