Does free labor give Liberty?

Well the question Here is Did free labor Give liberty? No i did not. Just because people could chose where they worked, it didn't make them happy.
Hi, I'm Eric Foner and in an article I wrote I said “ Alexis de Tocqueville was struck by Americans' restless energy and apparent lack of attachment to place. “No sooner do you set foot on American soil,” he observed, “than you find yourself in a sort of tumult. Everything around you is on the move (Eric Foner, 2008, pg 338)."
This clarifies that no free labor did not give liberty at all. People could chose how they worked, that's all they did, they couldn't become attached to anything because all they did was work.
Hi I am Stephen Douglas and in one of my articles i said “ For six thousand years the negro has been a race upon the earth, and during that whole six thou sand years—in all latitudes and climates wherever the negro has been-he has been inferior to whatever race adjoined him. The fact is he belongs to an inferior race and must occupy an inferior position.... What shall be done for the free negro?... We must leave each and every other State to decide for itself beyond our limits(Stephen Douglass 1858 pg. 395).”
This clarifies that only white men in this time really had the freedom to choose what work they did but the African Americans didn't which means they could never actually be free, or have liberty.
