- Yo Yo Ma was a famous cello player and was invited by the Chicago Symhpony to come perform three pieces.  He starts to think about what he wants to play with the huge orchestra. He has five different pieces to decide between.
- ...
- For one of them he decides on the classic "Canon in D" that everyone knows on the cello. He must evaluate the piece and decide how he wants to present the music. He practices day and night.
- Canon in D by Pachelbel seems like the best choice! I need to dramatize certain notes and make sure to make it interesting!
- For the second piece Yo Yo Ma picks a very hard piece to please and impress the crowd. He picks the Rachmaninoff Cello Sonata in G Minor. This piece allows him to pick individual sections to emphasize and bring to attention to show what the piece truly means.
- This piece focuses on a romantic aspect and pleasing the audience through pleasant chords and notes.
- For the final piece, Yo Yo Ma picks Bach Cello Suite Number One in G Major.  This is one of many pieces that is controversial in how it should be performed. Yo Yo Ma knows exactly how he wants to perform it though.
- Bach should always be performed with ease and gracefulness with a little bit of edge.  Adding drama allows for the piece to really shine for the ending of the show. 
- Yo Yo Ma after many days of practice was ready to perform the three pieces and made sure to present what he wanted to emphasize and demonstrated what the original composers wanted to be shown in their pieces. 
- Bravo!
- The crowd loved every minute of it and the performance passed with flying colors!
- If this was an AP exam, you would get a five!
