- We would have heard it drop if it hit the ground
- Madame loisel feels like she should be rich instead of in poverty.

- We'll have to work hard to pay it off
- Her husband feels bad that she is sad so he gets her a invitation to the ball. She gets jewelry from madame.
- Falling Action
- I hate working
- She loses the necklace and her husband goes to look for it.
- Resolution
- It cost us ten years to pay off that dept
- That was a fake. It was only four hundred francs
- They couldn't find the necklace so they decided to buy a new one but it cost way to much but they still buy it.
- She and her husband have to work for the money they used to buy the necklace.
- She tells madame that she lost it but she tells her it was a fake.
