- This rebellion did not last long and did not have much support from Texans

- Texans were outraged by these new laws and said it took away their rights

- Texans were angered that Stephen F. Austin was arrested and thought that he was not guilty and that his actions could be justified

- Mexicans sided with their respected general, Santa Anna, and thought that they should give the cannon back or their troops would take it by force
