In the Monsters are due on Maple Street by Pod Senling One of the main theme is Blaming others and trying to find a scarpegoat can lead to negative consequences. I chose this because in the story and televison version showed the characters blaming each other about who is real. Since the adults keep on trying to find out who the scrapegoat is . Which would lead to them to arguing and cause a lot to happen. Since in both of the stories it shows charlie had said to go ahead and show what he was working on. Which showed the suspicion he had on Steve. So Steve responded in hes surprised about how he is so dense all of a sudden. Goodman had now put the blame on Charlie. Which quote he said Charlie was so quick to to Shoot Pete. So now everyone is turning against him instead of explaning on how he is the monster. This shows now everyone is a follower into blaming whoever seems suspicios.
