- AUGUST 4, 1944
- *TITLE CARD*

- Elias is part of a search party looking for any Jews in hiding. Anne and her family are hiding in one of the rooms in the house.
- Anne and her family hear footsteps coming closer to them. Elias walks up to a door, and bursts it open. There is no one there. He opens a second door. No people to be seen.
- Elias eventually opens a door to find Anne and her family hiding inside. Elias recognises Anne and drops his gun. Anne and her family beg in silence.
- The General asks Elias if he has found anyone. Elias replies negatively, but nervously, making the General suspect something is up. enters the room to find Anne's family and drags them out into the hallway.
- As punishment for lying, the General makes Elias kill Anne's family, starting with Anne. Anne begs to Elias stating that she loves him.
