  • Covering yourself up and wearing sunscreen can protect you from the sun!
  • Reapplying sunscreen can help prevent skin disorders
  • There are three different kinds of skin cancer. Let's take a look at each one.
  • Some ways to protect yourself from skin cancer are to wear sunscreen and not spend too much time outside when its hot.
  • The first kind of skin cancer is Basal Cell Carcinoma. This kind occurs in heavily exposed areas of the skin like your face or neck.
  • Also when you are outside working out and are sweating a lot it is a good idea to reapply sunscreen
  • Next up, we have Squamous Cell Carcinoma, which appears around age 40.
  • This type, along with Basal Cell Carcinoma, is prevalent in southern states.
  • The three types of skin cancer are Basal Cell Carcinoma, Squamous Cell Carcinoma, and Melanoma.
  • Lastly, the third and most deadly kind of skin cancer is Melanoma. Vulnerability for this type starts as early as 12 years old and is equally as likely to occur in all areas of the country.
  • This type is typically is found light pink with flesh-colored bumps with pearly or waxy appearances. They grow slowly and are almost never fatal.
  • Squamous Cell Carcinoma often starts as flat red or brown splotches which become rough, dry and scaly. If this isn't treated it may eventually grow large enough to spread to internal organs and be fatal.
  • Melanoma may develop from pre-existing moles or start in clear areas of the skin. Careful! If this type isn't removed early, while thin, the rapid growing cancer may spread to internal organs and be fatal.
