My friend Frederick Douglass.
The story is nowgoing into the past, what led up to their friendship.
Fredrick Douglass ran away from the plantation and found refuge at the Quakers
The next slide is of their heads, it didn't work as well as I had planed.

LincolnI don't like slavery because I have seen the evils it has done.
DouglassI don't like slavery because I have been apart of it and know it is wrong
They all agreed on no slavery.
John BrownI don't like slavery because I think that men should not be owned by other men.
Abraham and Brown never knew each other but Brown and Douglass were good friends.
John Brown and his men were eventually hung for what they were doing.
Back to the "present" (in the book).
Abraham Lincoln was elected as president but his first four years were during the civil war.
Abraham found Fredrick and then found out that his people in the front were trying to get Fredrick in through the back because of his skin color.Then they discussed the long journeys in life one being escaping the plantation. Douglass reminded him that all journeys are long but some are worth it.They both believed that they would get through it.
