Hello, my name is Cesar Chavez. I am an American Labor Leader and civil rights activist. Currently I am not eating any food due to the violence being put on display by my own people. Many of my followers have cooked and brought me food, but I will continue to refuse until all violence from our behalf stops.
In 1962, I alongside Dolores Huerta, formed the National Farm Workers Association (NFWA). A union made to help better the working conditions of farm workers.
In the year 1965, I and many other farm workers proposed the idea to boycott grapes, due to the low pay and the very harsh conditions that the workers were facing.

In 1966, we managed to gather a group of 100 farm workers, all marching from Delano to the state capital in Sacramento, CA. This march was able to let the entire nation see the difficulties faced by all colored farm workers.
In the year of 1966, I was arrested alongside 8 other farmer laborers, a priest and a protestant minister, in a protest dispute with the farm workers union and the Di Giorgio Fruit Corp. We refused to end the protest and so they put us all in cuffs.
Unfortunately, I passed away on April 23, 1993. The cause for my death was essentially the fast. I was posthumously honored and awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
