My outline will be discussing if the Earth is flat or round. I will be using the book “Suspicious Minds” that mainly covers nostalgia and paranoia to further provide evidence. I will discuss why many scientists do their own research on this shape and come up with many different answers.
Some have beliefs that fall into the category of paranoia. Others just choose to follow a narrative that sounds believable. In Suspicious Minds, I’ll explain confirmation bias and why people believe what they do. Nostalgia is when we long for the past, usually for a time or place that was special to us. In the past, people saw the world as simple, without secrets or hidden truths, and believed what made the most sense. But now, with so many conspiracy theories, it’s harder to think clearly.

I’ll show a picture comparing the round and flat earth. The second video will discuss how paranoia affects how we think. People start to really believe their delusions and try to convince others. They may be seen as crazy, but people can truly believe the world is flat or round, and we judge each other when we don’t agree.
People often go back to what feels safe and familiar. I’ll talk about how nostalgia acts as a comfort in today’s world. I’ll use three short videos to cover each point. The first video will explain why I said the world is flat and how this idea has impacted history.

To wrap things up, my final video will pull everything together, showing how nostalgia, paranoia, and confirmation bias all play a role in shaping what we believe. I’ll tie it all back to the idea that our comfort with the past can make us resistant to new perspectives, no matter the evidence.
